We are so excited about our 7th year in the pumpkin business!
I (Penny), and daughter-in-laws, Elizabeth and Lindsey Bliler are looking forward to opening weekend Sept. 19!
Each year we incorporate new ideas and expand our offering of beautiful and unique specialty gourds, squash and pumpkins, mums, Indian corn and bittersweet. We also have beautiful jack ‘o lanterns to pick from!
Because pumpkins require a 4-year rotation planting program, it is impossible to plant the pumpkins next to our facility every year. For this reason…and the fact weeds are an unfortunate plague of pumpkin patches….we simulate our patch for your convenience…and safety in a 2 acre area near the barn. Finding the perfect pumpkin is still as special and just as exciting! We offer a free wagon ride around the patch for our enjoyment.
We also have a nice selection already gathered up by the barn, so grab a wagon and load up!
This will be our third year in our big, red barn which is an all-weather facility. It is beautifully decorated with fall décor made by us, or other local artisans. It is our goal to promote locally grown, locally made products and we strive to offer only things made or grown in Illinois and in the USA.
Our mums come from a local grower and are bigger, and more full than ever before!
Indian Knoll Caramel Apples in a bowl are the best you’ll ever taste! And this year we will be serving Cider Slushies, made from delicious Schwartz Orchard cider. Take home a gallon to enjoy after your visit.
Kids can play in our popular corn box, climb on hay bales and visit our farm animals in the barn. There are some barnyard toys and a giant hay stack with tunnels to crawl through. All these activities are $2 per child.
For a small, additional fee kids can paint a pumpkin, ride the barrel train, or have their face painted by our talented artist.
School groups and private parties are welcome. We can provide a bon fire and tent for private groups. (Please check for availability and pricing)
Indian Knoll Pumpkins is about a 30 minute drive from Springfield, Decatur or Taylorville.
